Treutlen County Education: 943 students were enrolled in 2022-23 school year

There were 943 students enrolled in Treutlen County schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.8% less than the previous year, according to reports from the Georgia Department of Education.

Girls made up 50.7% of the county's student body, while the other 49.3% were boys.

Data also showed that white students made up 52.3% of the student body, the largest percentage in Treutlen County schools, followed by African American students with 39.6%, 4.8% multiracial students, 2.9% Hispanic students and 0.5% Asian students.

Treutlen Middle/High School stood out with the highest enrollment among Treutlen County's two schools in the 2022-23 cycle, welcoming 516 students.

According to the Georgia Department of Education, over 1.6 million students were enrolled in Georgia's public schools during the 2021-22 school year. The state boasted a diverse and closely distributed student body across grade levels, with roughly 44% of the students in elementary, 24.5% in middle school, and 31.5% in high schools.

The state also registered an ethnically diverse student body, with 34.4% of the students identified as white, 36.5% as Black, 17.1% as Hispanic, and 4.5% as Asian.
